Graduate design at the "Gerrit Rietveld Academie", the Amsterdam School of Art. Although glass is a fragile material, when properly used, it can be very strong. I have designed a chair with a steel frame and hardened glass seating. To avoid unwanted tensions, the glass is fixed onto the frame, pressed and fixed by a number of supple rubber balls. The glass elements, together with the rubber balls give the chair its character. The chair easily supports an adult person and is entirely demountable.
